"There is innocence within me that already knows how to trust my Higher Power, to cherish life while holding it lightly, to live fully and simply in the present moment. I will allow that part of myself to come forward and nourish me as I continue on this journey." ~from Courage to Change: One Day at a Time in Al-Anon II/, page 82Life can be tricky and cruel at times. What do you do when you lose your moorings? When the wind and waves of adversities batter you from side to side in relentless anger, how do you respond? How do you react? Do you cower in helplessness or courageously face it with determination and faith?
Miseries, tragedies, misfortunes, failures, defeats, death, problems –name them all you want -are only temporary. They are here today; tomorrow they are gone. They will surely pass. What you do or how you face them at the present has a significant effect in the future. There is a higher POWER within us and above us waiting to be tap. A little faith and childlike innocence to reach for it will spell a huge difference in how you feel and view your predicament. Look at a child at play. See when he stumbles and how he gets up knowing when you are around to look after him. Likewise, God, or however you wanna call him, watches over us and sees to it that we are able to survive.
