Blind Faith is Fatal | A Reflective Sunday

blind_faith_is_fatal
And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. (Hebrews 11:6 NIV)

However, blind faith is fatal.

Gone are the days when you question anything about God or religion and it is considered a treason or you are labeled a heretic. Today, we embrace if not accept any religious belief, regardless of form as long as it does not violate common acceptable moral standards.

Your faith, however, has to stand intelligent scrutiny otherwise you will be labeled a blind fanatic or in some segment of our society –a lunatic. Of course, that would be the extreme. Well, certainly others are forgiving and they will just tolerate you for being different.

Faith must be grounded on perceived solid facts and truth.

However, believing the existence of God, or your ‘god’ (whatever you wanna call him/her, please note I am not being sacrilegious here nor do I want to offend anybody –my apologies) is not easy sometimes, especially when you see and hear sufferings and miseries around you, and worse, when you are in the middle of it . Let alone you are the victim yourself. Faith here is tested. So, will it stand?

Blind faith is fatal without a basis, a foundation to lean on.

How about you, how do you strengthen the moorings of your faith? How do you justify it intelligently?
