A Reflective Sunday: Forgiveness

forgiveness_heals
"Without being forgiven, released from the consequences of what we have done, our capacity to act would, as it were, be confined to a single deed from which we could never recover; we would remain the victims of its consequences forever, not unlike the sorcerer’s apprentice, who lacked the magic formula to break the spell. " ~Hannah Arendt
Being forgiven and being forgiving are inseparable. No one who receives forgiveness can possibly deny others their forgiveness; it is the order of things, the natural law.

We err because we are humans. We falter, we fail, and we commit unaccounted blunders, but each time we sought forgiveness from the Almighty, we are always forgiven. Hence, the same courtesy should be extended to others. Besides, is it not embedded in the Lord’s Prayer?
“…forgive us from our trespasses, as we forgive those who have sinned against us.”
When was the last time you have forgiven somebody?
