It’s the season to be jolly. Unfortunately, it’s also the season for so much spending. And for some, they tend to view this kind of spending justifiable because of the season. I think we can celebrate without spending beyond our means, ayt? Sometimes, it is just a matter of perspective and couple that with good budgeting and planning. Here are a few simple money saving tips for the holidays that you might want to try:
  • Buy and give inexpensive yet meaningful gifts.
  • Instead of spending the holidays elsewhere, why not spend it with your family at home. If your extended family is within the vicinity, you might want to invite them in and agree to contribute something for the Christmas dinner.
  • Take out the excessive Christmas lights that used to surround your whole patio and garden, this help lower my bills on electricity, it will help you too.
  • Also, amidst the holiday cheers, this is the good time to discuss with your family about your finances, make plans, and budget. The holiday cheers will soften sensitive discussions about finances and expenditures especially that we are in a recession.
  • Lastly, treat yourself a good holiday cheer by being debt free after the holidays!
