Eleven days more to 2009. It seems like yesterday. Time passes too quickly!
It is not being nostalgic, but I’d like to look back and see what went right and wrong about 2008.
I began the year full of optimism. It was my second year as a freelancer. Goals were set. Some were met, some were not. If I am an ardent believer of Feng Shui, I will not accept any misfortunes this year. This is supposed to be one of the luckiest years of my life, according to that practice or belief. However, life is not like that. Choices were made. There are circumstances that are beyond our control. There are inevitable events. How we cope, and the choices we make determine the outcome, good or bad.
If there are regrets about this year, these are the missed opportunities. Was it Francis Bacon who said:

A wise man will make more opportunities than he finds.Well, I am no wise man in this case huh. I allowed great opportunities to pass me by, and when warranted, I failed to create opportunities for myself. I’d like to see myself mature in this area come 2009. Regardless how this recession will go, I will find, if not create, opportunities in every turn. It’s ambitious, I know. But it can be done.
Keep up optimism about the future Ronnie!
ReplyDeleteAll my wishes for you to make your ambitions become true in this year.
Optimism is probably the only thing that I have right now that's keeping my sanity intact. Lol.
ReplyDeleteThank you Miryam! Happy new year!
